Gibran calls for agile bureaucracy to improve public service

“Government agencies must be more agile,” Gibran said during the opening of the 27th National Leadership Course Program (P3N) and the 69th National Leadership Preparation and Consolidation Program (P4N) of the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas) at the Vice Presidential Palace, Jakarta on Wednesday.

According to the VP, the transformation of bureaucratic work methods must continue so that the government becomes more adaptive, responsive, and capable of addressing the public’s needs swiftly.

Gibran noted that the efforts were in line with President Prabowo’s directives to improve government effectiveness, create more responsive public services, and ensure that the presence of the state brings greater benefits to society.

The VP also highlighted the importance of strengthening cross-sector collaboration as one of the key requirements for building an agile government that can work more efficiently.

He said the strong synergy among institutions is crucial to overcoming coordination challenges that often slow down program implementation on the ground.

“Do not make everything complicated. We should collaborate across sectors more often,” Gibran said.

He invites the participants to always place the interests of civilians in the policymaking process as the top priority.

The Vice President hopes various programs and policies could provide tangible benefits to the public and should not be obstructed by bureaucratic barriers. “There should be no more sectoral ego,” Gibran said.
