Jakarta – Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka was seen accompanying President Joko Widodo, the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, in a single car after both attended a cordial gathering and discussions on national issues with President Prabowo Subianto at Istana Merdeka, Jakarta, on Tuesday night (3 March).

On the grounds of Istana Merdeka, Jokowi first exited the meeting area at around 23:15 local time. The former president, wearing a long batik shirt and a black peci, walked to his vehicle while talking with Ma’ruf Amin, the 13th Vice President who had previously accompanied him during the 2019-2024 administration. Behind Jokowi and Ma’ruf, Boediono, the 11th Vice President, was also seen walking in step.

Upon reaching the end of the corridor, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya welcomed Jokowi and bid him farewell before guiding him into a black sedan.

Jokowi attended the cordial gathering and discussions on national affairs hosted by President Prabowo together with other former presidents, namely Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, the 6th president, and former vice presidents Jusuf Kalla (the 10th and 12th), Boediono and Ma’ruf Amin.

Meanwhile, Gibran accompanied President Prabowo at the meeting, which lasted three-and-a-half hours.

President Prabowo Subianto led the Silaturahmi and Diskusi Kebangsaan proceedings, attended by several former Indonesian presidents, party leaders, former foreign ministers, and members of the Red-White Cabinet at Istana Merdeka, Jakarta, on Tuesday night.

The president sat at the centre of the main table, flanked on the right by President Jokowi and on the left by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Ministers from the Red-White Cabinet were present, including Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto (sitting in the same row as Minister of Social Affairs Saifulah Yusuf), Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, and the Minister of Investment and Hilirisasi, who is also CEO of BPI Danantara, Rosan Perkasa Roeslani.

The participants sat around the long table, equipped with display screens, as they exchanged views on strategic issues to be discussed at the meeting.
