JAKARTA — Vice President Gibran Rakabuming attended the Harmoni Imlek Nusantara 2026 celebration held at Banteng Field, Jakarta, on Saturday, 28 February 2026.

Gibran arrived at the venue at approximately 20:00 Western Indonesian Time, wearing a brown batik shirt. Upon arrival, he was welcomed by numerous ministers and deputy ministers, including Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar, Infrastructure and Regional Development Coordinator Minister Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), and Prabowo Subianto’s son Didit Prabowo.

Several deputy ministers also attended, including Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar Li and Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology Stella Christie. Gibran and his delegation then proceeded to the VVIP room to observe the Harmoni Imlek Nusantara 2026 event.

Inside the venue, Gibran greeted and exchanged pleasantries with guests including National Economic Council Chair Luhut Binsar Panjaitan. Other attendees included Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Head of the Regional Representatives Council Sultan Najamuddin, Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Wang Lutong, and various local businesspeople.

The event commenced with the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, Indonesia Raya. It continued with a series of traditional dance performances and lion dance attractions, creating a festive atmosphere that blended Chinese and Indonesian cultural elements.

Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar opened the parade procession, accompanied by Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar Li, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology Stella Christie, Deputy Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection, and several regional heads, at approximately 16:26 Western Indonesian Time.

Several regional leaders attended, including North Maluku Governor Sherly Tjoanda and Semarang Mayor Agustina Wilujeng Pramestuti. The bedug (large drum) striking ceremony took place on a stage located on a street between the Cathedral Church and Istiqlal Mosque.

Following the bedug ceremony, the parade procession commenced, featuring lion dance performances from various regions, ondel-ondel traditional dolls, Reog Ponorogo dance, pencak silat martial arts, and various other Nusantara cultural performances.
