Gianyar Wins Award for Transparent Regional Budget Management at detikBali-Nusra Awards

The Gianyar Regency Government has received an award for its transparent management of the Regional Budget (APBD) at the detikBali-Nusra Awards 2026. The accolade was presented in the ‘Commendable Economic Programme’ category, specifically for Transformation of Regional Financial Governance, during a ceremony in The Trans Resort Bali on Friday.

The award was received by the Assistant for General Administration of the Gianyar Regional Secretariat, I Ketut Lanang Sadya, on behalf of the Regent of Gianyar, I Made Mahayastra. The recognition underscores the regency’s commitment to managing its IDR 4.3 trillion budget with a focus on improving public services.

Under the leadership of Regent Mahayastra, the administration has implemented several key programmes. In the health sector, the regency allocated funds to provide free healthcare services to the public in 2026, ensuring access at all health facilities managed by the local government. Additionally, the administration reactivated the National Health Insurance (JKN-PBI) membership, which now covers 137,786 residents.

In education, the Gianyar government has prepared scholarships for 1,000 high school and vocational school graduates to pursue higher education. The programme is also open to active state university students in their second semester, specifically targeting those from underprivileged families to broaden access to tertiary education.

To improve public service delivery, the regency introduced an integrated digital population administration service accessible at the village and sub-district levels. This allows residents to process various civil documents, including birth certificates, child identity cards, electronic ID cards, and marriage or divorce certificates, without needing to visit the central civil registry office. The service is designed to be easy, fast, transparent, accurate, and free of charge.

The regency’s commitment to clean governance is further demonstrated by the Payangan General Hospital achieving the Integrity Zone status, recognised as a Corruption-Free Area (WBK) and a Clean and Serving Bureaucracy Area (WBBM). This achievement is part of a broader effort to drive bureaucratic reform and foster a professional, corruption-free public service culture, with the Regent encouraging all regional apparatus organisations to follow suit.
