Gianyar, Bali - The Regent of Gianyar, Bali, I Made Mahayastra, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Gianyar Regency General Elections Commission (KPU) regarding synergy to strengthen transparency in general elections.

“This signing represents a strategic step in bolstering cross-sector coordination to ensure that the democratic process runs optimally, transparently, and with high quality,” said the Regent of Gianyar during the MoU signing in Gianyar, Bali, on Monday.

According to him, the cooperation concerns the synergy in implementing tasks and functions in the preparation and conduct of general elections and regional elections in Gianyar.

The Gianyar Regency Government expressed appreciation for the KPU’s dedication and committed to providing support, including facilities that bolster institutional performance.

Through the MoU, the synergy is also expanded by involving regional apparatus through technical cooperation agreements with the Civil Registry and Population Records Office, the Library and Archives Office (Dispusar), and the Community and Village Empowerment Office (PMD).

Additionally, the Communication and Informatics Office (Diskominfo), Social Office, Manpower Office (Disnaker), Education Office (Disdik), Agriculture Office, Women’s Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control, and Family Planning Office (DP3AP2KB), as well as the Gianyar Regency Customary Village Council.

This technical cooperation is expected to sustainably improve the quality and performance of the Gianyar KPU, while maintaining and even enhancing its position as one of the best at the national level.

Meanwhile, the Gianyar Regency KPU Chairman, I Wayan Mura, expressed appreciation for the full support from the Gianyar Regency Government to date.

“We thank you for the synergy that has been built very well. The support from the local government, especially in institutional aspects, has been extraordinary, allowing elections and regional head elections in Gianyar to run smoothly without significant obstacles,” he stated.

He added that the synergy that has been running so far is now formalised through the MoU and will be followed up with cooperation agreements (PKS) with relevant regional apparatus.
