Gianyar Regent I Made Mahayastra has outlined a reflection of his performance achievements during one year of his second term in office and presented an evaluation of development initiatives at the beginning of his second leadership period.

Mahayastra emphasised the importance of bureaucratic professionalism through the establishment of daily work calendars and measured work papers. He stated this whilst leading an assembly attended by all State Civil Apparatus (ASN) personnel under the Gianyar Regency Government at the courtyard of the Regent’s office on Monday, 2 March 2026.

In his remarks, Mahayastra emphasised the importance of discipline before the Gianyar Regency Government’s ASN personnel. He assessed that attendance must align with tangible work results.

“No matter how excellent a programme is, it will not run without strong and disciplined executors. Therefore, I ask each division to establish clear work papers. What is being worked on, when it starts, and when it finishes,” said Mahayastra in his statement on Monday.

Mahayastra also highlighted the management of the Gianyar Regency regional budget, which has reached more than Rp 4.3 trillion. According to him, this figure is a great mandate that must be managed responsibly.

“We are managing public money in large amounts. Never think of misusing it, even in small amounts, because when multiplied by thousands of ASN personnel, the value will be very large,” added the PDIP politician.

Mahayastra then outlined achievements in the field of public services. Some of these include a health assistance programme, providing scholarships to thousands of secondary and vocational education graduates to pursue higher education and vocational training institutions, as well as digitalisation of services based on applications to ensure transparency and professionalism.

Furthermore, Mahayastra also appreciated the achievement of Corruption-Free Zone Status (WBK) and Clean and Serving Bureaucracy Zone Status (WBBM) by Payangan General Hospital. He encouraged other regional apparatus organisations (OPD) to realise a serving and corruption-free bureaucracy.

Regarding healthcare services, Mahayastra assured that RSUD Sanjiwani will launch integrated cardiac services with modern medical equipment in November. In this way, Gianyar residents will no longer need to be referred outside the region for stent placement or bypass procedures.

Mahayastra affirmed his commitment to completing all programmes contained in the Regional Long-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) in a measured and timely manner. In his view, leadership is not about seeking popularity on social media. Rather, it is about leaving tangible works that the community can benefit from.

“This success is 70 per cent due to the support of all of you. However, as Regent, I must remain firm. For the next four years, we must remain in serious work mode with full concentration. If leaders are not firm, the bureaucracy can revert to old patterns,” he said.

For information, this early March assembly also served as an opportunity to strengthen the commitment of all ASN personnel in the Gianyar Regency Government to continue improving professionalism, integrity, and spirit of public service. On this occasion, Mahayastra also presented awards to seven athletes from Gianyar who won gold medals at the Thailand Sea Games.
