Gianyar Regency Targets All District Roads to Be Smooth Within Three Years
The Gianyar Regency Government is repairing all roads and targets completion within the next three years. Some work and road repairs have already begun.
“We have set a three-year target for all district roads to be completed,” said Head of the Gianyar Regency Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency, I Dewa Gede Putra Hartawan, in a statement on Saturday (18/7/2026).
Hartawan explained that the project’s commencement was marked by the implementation of road infrastructure improvement and repair works at several points. A total of 36 road work packages have been prepared this year. Of that number, five packages have been completed, 10 packages are still in progress, while the remainder will soon enter the implementation stage.
Currently, progress has reached 80.66 percent. Funds amounting to IDR 189.87 billion have been budgeted for 2026.
“This programme is part of accelerating the improvement of district road quality, which has become a regional development priority,” said Hartawan.
Gianyar Regent I Made Agus Mahayastra stated that the percentage of road works over the next three years is targeted to reach 85 percent. Previously, 55 road work packages with a total budget reaching IDR 191,513,938,800 were carried out in 2025.
“Road infrastructure development is one of the regional government’s main priorities,” said Mahayastra.
Mahayastra said that the physical works to be carried out soon in the field will be supervised, to ensure the entire procurement process has been completed so that work can proceed according to schedule.
Development is being carried out on neighbourhood roads, after most district road sections are in good condition. “Astungkara, by the time I finish my term as Regent, there will be no more damaged district roads,” he said.
