Gianyar Regency Selects Three Villages for KPK Anti-Corruption Village Programme
Gianyar (ANTARA) - The Gianyar Regency government in Bali is rigorously selecting three villages to serve as pilot anti-corruption villages as part of an initiative by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to support clean, transparent, accountable village governance free from misappropriation.
“Villages, as the frontline of public services, are capable of implementing programmes and using budgets on target to provide optimal benefits for the community,” said Acting Inspectorate Secretary of Gianyar Regency I Nyoman Mustika in Gianyar on Thursday.
He explained that the three screened villages are Taro Village, Bukian Village, and Pejeng Kelod Village.
The anti-corruption village pilot has been underway since October 2025 through mentoring and socialisation to seven proposed villages.
Those seven villages each represent one of the seven sub-districts, namely Batuan Village, Belega Village, Tulikup Village, Pejeng Kelod Village, Petulu Village, Taro Village, and Bukian Village.
Subsequently, all those villages carried out fulfilment of supporting evidence for each indicator and conducted self-assessments in accordance with the anti-corruption village assessment worksheet.
The assessment results were then evaluated by the Gianyar Regency Anti-Corruption Village Pilot Expansion Team from January to February 2026.
From those evaluation results, three villages achieved the highest scores and were designated as candidate pilot anti-corruption villages in Gianyar Regency.
The anti-corruption village programme is not merely an administrative assessment or ceremonial activity, but a real movement to instil values of integrity, honesty, and responsibility in every aspect of village governance.
Meanwhile, Coordinator of the Bali Province Observation Team Nyoman Trisna Hari Sutara explained that the three pilot villages will be observed and one will be selected to represent Gianyar at the Bali provincial level.
He added that this anti-corruption village programme is a KPK initiative to combat corruption practices at the village level.
He hoped that villages that did not pass would continue their commitment to clean governance.
“The anti-corruption village pilot is actually to realise public information openness,” he said.
