Gianyar, Bali (ANTARA) - The Gianyar Regency Government in Bali has increased its locally generated revenue (PAD) by Rp33.6 billion in the Draft Revised Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) for 2026, bringing it to Rp2.43 trillion.

“Compared to the 2026 original PAD, the new PAD has risen by 1.4 per cent,” said Gianyar Regent I Made Mahayastra on the sidelines of the delivery of the Financial Memorandum for the 2026 Draft Revised APBD at a plenary session of the Gianyar Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) on Monday.

The Gianyar Regency Government is strengthening its tax base through taxpayer registration as well as broadening the extensification and intensification of taxation to support PAD.

PAD accounts for 71.21 per cent of total regional revenue in the 2026 revised APBD of Rp3.41 trillion.

The remaining 28.71 per cent consists of transfer revenue of Rp980 billion and other legitimate regional revenue of Rp3 billion.

The Regent detailed that transfer revenue in the revision has fallen by Rp30.7 billion, or 1.72 per cent, compared with the original 2026 budget.

Meanwhile, the Rp3 billion in other legitimate regional revenue comprises grants from the central government in recognition of achievements in poverty reduction and stunting reduction, as well as in the creative financing category.

Regent Mahayastra further stated that regional expenditure under the budget revision has also decreased by Rp52.29 billion to Rp4.33 trillion.

Regional expenditure comprises operational expenditure of Rp2.35 trillion, or 54.40 per cent of the total share; capital expenditure of Rp1.59 trillion, or 36.76 per cent; unexpected expenditure of Rp9.05 billion, or 0.21 per cent; and transfer expenditure of Rp373.9 billion, or 8.63 per cent.

Regent Mahayastra added that the budget deficit in the 2026 Draft Revised APBD for Gianyar Regency stands at Rp921.9 billion, as projected revenue is smaller than planned expenditure needed to finance priority sectors.

However, he assured that the 2026 revised budget deficit would be covered by net financing of Rp921.9 billion.

Financing expenditure in the 2026 revised APBD is planned at Rp85.5 billion, comprising Rp10 billion for regional equity participation and Rp75.5 billion for the repayment of maturing principal debt instalments.
