Gianyar Regency Provides Inclusive Health Services at 570 Posyandu

Gianyar Regency, Bali – The Gianyar Regency Government, Bali, provided inclusive health services simultaneously at 570 posyandu spread across 70 desa/kelurahan. “Posyandu now reach a range of community needs, particularly vulnerable groups such as toddlers, pregnant women, the elderly, and families in need,” said I Ketut Mudana, Assistant for Administrative Government Affairs and Welfare of the Gianyar Regency, on the sidelines of the Posyandu Day celebrations at the Balai Banjar Bonjaka, Desa Sebatu, Gianyar, Bali, on Tuesday. The statement explained that the current transformation of posyandu includes six fields of the Minimal Service Standards (SPM): health, education, social welfare, public works, housing, and security, public order, and community protection. To this end, the administration strengthened the role of posyandu as a centre for education, family empowerment, and improvement of human resource quality from early childhood to old age (the elderly). It emphasised the importance of attention to the elderly group, which is valued for its experience, wisdom, and noble values that need to be safeguarded in social life. “I hope this activity provides tangible benefits for the Sebatu village community and serves as a good example of synergy between the regional government, village government, posyandu cadres, and the community in realising a healthy, progressive, and prosperous Gianyar,” he added. Meanwhile, the Head of the Gianyar Regency Agency for Community Empowerment and Village (DPMD) I Gede Daging revealed that to accelerate the implementation of Posyandu Enam SPM, the Gianyar Regency Posyandu Supervisory Team (TP) will optimise the involvement of all village elements, facilitate village development planning, and strengthen cross-agency collaboration. The health services are supported by a total of 23 doctors, including specialists in paediatrics, internal medicine, ear, nose and throat (THT), and obstetrics who work in cooperation with the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI). In addition to health services, several department offices also provided services, such as the Health Department offering free health checkups and eye examinations in collaboration with Bali Mandara Hospital. The Education Department distributed the comic ‘Seven Habits of Great Indonesian Children’, the Department of Food Security distributed supplementary food packages to pregnant women and the elderly in Banjar Bonjaka. The Environment Agency (DLH) handed over 10 waste sorting facilities, and the Social Service provided staple food packages for elderly people in need in Desa Sebatu, while Bank BPD Bali provided staple foods for the elderly and pregnant women, as well as supplementary food packages for toddlers. The event was also attended by Secretary of the I Posyandu Supervisory Team Gianyar Ida Ayu Diana Dewi Agung Mayun, along with heads of related agencies within the Gianyar Regency government.
