Gianyar Regency Presents Regional Innovations to Jakarta DPRD
Gianyar, Bali - The Gianyar Regency Government in Bali presented its regional innovations, including the digitalisation of services, to the Jakarta DPRD delegation during their working visit to the Island of the Gods. “In the first period of my tenure, we began designing strategies to increase original local revenue (PAD) through the implementation of applications,” said Regent of Gianyar I Made Mahayastra in Gianyar, Bali, on Thursday. He explained that these innovations increased PAD to around Rp600 billion. In addition, he continued, in 2019 the Gianyar Regency Government also took out a loan for the National Economic Recovery (PEN) funds through the state-owned enterprise PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (SMI) to accelerate infrastructure development in the region. “I completed the construction of the Gianyar Town Square, Sanjiwani Hospital, and Payangan Hospital,” he added. Mahayastra also conveyed that, based on an economic survey in Bali, Gianyar Regency was the area with the smallest economic decline during the COVID-19 pandemic. Moreover, to support efficiency and transparency in government governance, all Regional Device Organisations (OPD) under the Gianyar Regency Government are required to use a digital application system in carrying out services and government administration. During the meeting, various matters related to government governance, regional development, and the development of potentials owned by each region were also discussed. Meanwhile, the Head of the Jakarta Provincial DPRD Delegation, Yuke Yurike, expressed appreciation for the welcome and the various information obtained during the visit to Gianyar Regency. “We came initially to learn one or two things, but it turns out we gained many lessons and very useful experiences. Thank you to the Regent of Gianyar, the Chairman of the DPRD, and the Secretary of the Regency for the welcome and explanations,” she added. Yuke Yurike also appreciated the various innovations and bold development programmes because they were able to bring positive changes to Gianyar Regency. After being received in the Regent’s Working Room in Gianyar, the Jakarta representatives then inspected the construction of the Gianyar Regency Central Government Centre (Puspem), which is currently in the finalisation stage.
