The Gianyar Police Department has conducted a large-scale patrol to maintain public security and order ahead of Nyepi (Saka Year 1948) and Eid al-Fitr (1447 Hijrah). The operation was carried out on Monday evening (16 March 2026) across the Gianyar police jurisdiction.

The large-scale patrol was led by Kompol I Nyoman Sukadana, the Operations Commander, and involved combined personnel from the Gianyar Police District, Military Command 1616/Gianyar, and the Gianyar Regency Civil Police.

Prior to the patrol, all personnel participated in a readiness assembly at the Tri Brata Field of Gianyar Police Headquarters. In his briefing, Sukadana emphasised that the large-scale patrol aims to increase the presence of security personnel among the public to anticipate potential disturbances to public order during Ramadan, the Lebaran exodus, and the Nyepi celebrations.

The patrol covered strategic routes throughout the Gianyar area to Ubud. In addition to inspecting personnel at the Ubud Security Post during Operation Ketupat Agung 2026, personnel provided public order guidance to the community and conducted humane warnings to motorists who did not comply with vehicle safety standards.

Gianyar Police Chief AKBP Chandra C. Kesuma stated that the large-scale patrol is a preventive measure to support the success of Operation Ketupat Agung 2026, whilst ensuring that the public can carry out activities and celebrate religious holidays safely and comfortably.

“This large-scale patrol is part of Operation Ketupat Agung 2026, which aims to ensure that public order and security remain safe and conducive, particularly ahead of Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr. Together with relevant agencies, we are increasing preventive activities in the field so that the public feels secure in their activities,” said AKBP Chandra C. Kesuma.

He further stressed that synergy between the military, police, local government, and all sections of society is essential to maintain regional security stability, particularly during major religious celebrations.

Following the implementation of the large-scale patrol as part of Operation Ketupat Agung 2026, the public order situation in the Gianyar police jurisdiction remained reported as safe, orderly, and conducive. The Gianyar Police Department also appealed to the public to continue protecting their local environment and complying with applicable regulations to create a peaceful atmosphere during the religious holiday celebrations.
