Combined security personnel conducted a joint assembly to ensure public safety and order remained conducive during Ramadan, particularly regarding crime prevention.

The public order assembly took place on Wednesday, 25 February 2026 at 08:45 WITA at the Tri Brata Apel grounds of Gianyar Police precinct. The assembly was led directly by Deputy Police Chief of Gianyar, Senior Commissioner Willa Jully Nendissa, and attended by representatives from the District Military Command 1616/Gianyar, Gianyar District Transportation Office, Gianyar District Civil Service Police, Gianyar District Disaster Management Agency, the Chair of Pasikian Pecalang, Gianyar Banser Coordination Chief, senior officials from Gianyar Police precinct, divisional police chiefs, and combined personnel from the Indonesian Armed Forces, National Police, Transportation Office, Civil Service Police, Disaster Management Agency, Pecalang, and Banser across Gianyar District.

Deputy Police Chief Willa Jully Nendissa emphasised that the alert assembly represented the readiness of all security elements to maintain public order and stability during Ramadan.

“This morning’s assembly is not merely routine; rather, it is a manifestation of our preparedness to provide a sense of security to all Muslim citizens in carrying out their fasting worship. Our presence today represents our commitment and the synergy of all national components in realising a conducive public order situation in Gianyar Police’s legal jurisdiction,” stated Senior Commissioner Willa Jully Nendissa.

Willa stressed that during Ramadan there is an increase in public activity, including religious activities at mosques, activities related to obtaining fast-breaking meals, and community mobility during the breaking of fast and pre-dawn meals. Such conditions potentially create public order vulnerabilities including theft, robbery, illegal racing, use of fireworks, and the potential for social conflict and food security disruptions.

“As part of our national components—whether the Armed Forces, National Police, regional government, or all elements of society—we share a collective responsibility to minimise potential public order disturbances, including provocative issues rooted in ethnicity, religion, race, and inter-group tensions, both within communities and in cyberspace,” she stated.

Senior Commissioner Willa also called on all personnel and stakeholders to continue fostering a spirit of tolerance amongst religious communities, enabling the public to conduct their worship safely, comfortably, and with full devotion.

“Gianyar Police is prepared to work in synergy with all government apparatus and community elements to ensure tolerance and harmony remain intact. Let us ensure that communities can conduct their fasting worship with devotion, safely, and comfortably without fear of security disturbances,” she added.
