The Gianyar Regency Government (Pemkab) has launched the Beautiful Statistics Village (Cantik) Programme 2026. This programme, initiated jointly with the Gianyar Regency Central Statistics Agency (BPS), aims to improve village capacities in data management.

“The importance of strengthening village capacities in statistical data management to support targeted development planning,” said the Secretary of Gianyar Regency, I Gusti Bagus Adi Widhya Utama, alias Bem, in his statement on Thursday (23/4/2026).

Bem stated that there are efforts to enhance capacities and abilities in data management at the village level through structured and sustainable coaching. Some of these efforts include statistical literacy and awareness at the village level, encouraging data management standardisation, and forming village statistical agents capable of processing and utilising data optimally.

With these efforts, it is hoped that each village can have accurate and quality statistical data as a basis for decision-making in the community. Development can run more effectively and on target if the statistical data is accurate and of quality.

“The success of the Beautiful Village programme requires cross-sector collaboration, from village governments, BPS, Bappeda, the PMD Office, to Diskominfo, to realise an integrated data ecosystem,” said Bem.

The Head of the Gianyar Regency Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Maria Iin Maidiana, said that statistical coaching will be handled directly by BPS. Village governments to sub-districts are required to participate in the coaching, which will be adjusted to the development of the National Statistical System (SSN) and support the implementation of One Data Indonesia.

“This activity also aims to increase statistical literacy, ensure data management standardisation, and optimise data utilisation to support village development,” said Maria.

In the coaching process, statistical agents at the village level will be produced and will become drivers in data management according to statistical principles. If successful and has a positive impact, quality and accurate statistical data can be managed by all villages and sub-districts in Gianyar Regency as a step towards realising One Data Village Indonesia.
