The commemoration of National Children’s Day in Gianyar was enlivened by the Gianyar Children Festival at the Gianyar Cultural Centre. The event was filled with various activities aimed at better child growth and development.

“The Gianyar Regency Government together with the Gianyar Children’s Forum held the Gianyar Children Festival 2026 with the theme ‘Weaving Dreams, Spreading Inspiration’,” said the Chairperson of the Gianyar Children’s Forum for the 2026-2028 period, Putu Karisma Uma Dewi, in a statement on Saturday (25/7/2026).

Dewi said a number of activities during the event included outbound sessions, children’s laughter and fun, material presentations by Gianyar child ambassadors, a colouring competition for kindergarten level, and a Fun Gianyar Sharing activity with the Unique Children Foundation. There were also storytelling competitions for junior high school students and educational video competitions for senior high school and vocational school students.

All activities during the event were chosen with several considerations in mind, namely to enhance learning abilities, character building, and the development of children’s potential. Additionally, the activities served as a space for children to channel their interests, talents, and convey their aspirations.

“The Gianyar Children’s Forum creates freedom of expression and a safe space for children in Gianyar. Through this activity, we can see the greatness of Gianyar’s children in showing their creativity and conveying their aspirations,” said Dewi.

The Head of Child Protection at the Gianyar Office of Women’s Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control, and Family Planning (DP3AP2KB), Anak Agung Sri Sruti Sundari, stated that the National Children’s Day commemoration is an important momentum to raise awareness and increase participation from all elements of society in fulfilling children’s rights, so that children in Gianyar can grow and develop.

“And obtain protection from all forms of violence and discrimination,” she added.

Sundari said the active role of the children’s forum serves as a platform for children in Gianyar to voice their opinions and aspirations, as well as to advocate for them as part of child-friendly regional development.

“I hope the children of Gianyar continue to dare to dream as high as possible, develop their potential, and become a source of inspiration for their surroundings. Dreams woven with determination, hard work, and a passion for learning will be important provisions for achieving a brilliant future,” she said.
