SURABAYA, East Java: The Westin Surabaya Hotel plans to display the biggest replica ever made of the Garuda Pancasila national symbol on Independence Day on Aug. 17.

The giant replica will weigh 650 kilograms and measure 8.1 meters wide by 5.2 meters tall. It will be made of 300 kgs of coconut fiber, wire, rattan, bamboo and rope, the hotel's marketing and communication manager, Sri Rejeki, told Antara on Thursday.

She said it would take hotel workers and street children around 14 days to construct the replica. (05)
