Jakarta LRT Phase 1B, serving the Velodrome-Manggarai route, is scheduled to begin operations in August 2026, connecting East Jakarta with Central Jakarta. Work on the Lintas Raya Terpadu (LRT) Jakarta project for the Velodrome–Manggarai route (Phase 1B) was observed in the Rawamangun area, Jakarta, on Monday (27/7/2026). According to data from the Jakarta LRT project team as of 24 July, overall construction progress for the Jakarta LRT Velodrome-Manggarai line has reached 96.77 percent. This progress includes bridge track work at 99.67 percent and rail track installation at 87.29 percent. Meanwhile, overall station construction progress has reached 84.83 percent, covering Rawamangun Station to Manggarai Station. DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that the presence of the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B will serve as an inspiration or role model for resolving transport issues in Jakarta. In addition to connecting East Jakarta with Central Jakarta, the Rp4.1 trillion project will also strengthen intermodal integration at Manggarai Station. The operation of Jakarta LRT Phases 1A and 1B is targeted to serve up to 18 million passengers by 2028, while contributing to the reduction of urban carbon emissions through the use of electric-based public transport.
