GHD Expands into Indonesia, Strengthening Collaboration on Sustainable Projects in ASEAN
JAKARTA, investortrust.id - GHD, a global multidisciplinary professional services network originating from Australia that provides integrated solutions for digital, engineering, environment, design, and construction, is expanding by opening its new office in Indonesia.
“This expansion into Indonesia supports the creation of broader collaboration opportunities with our clients and partners in Southeast Asia and beyond, as a continuation of our operational successes in Singapore and the Philippines,” said Jim Giannopoulos, CEO of GHD, in a press release on Thursday (23/4/2026).
“Indonesia is projected to become the world’s fourth-largest economy by 2050. We see strong aspirations from society in Indonesia and more broadly in the ASEAN region for a future more focused on environmental sustainability and the importance of sustainable resource development, particularly in the food, water, energy, and minerals sectors,” he added.
GHD is currently working on a pilot cooperation project between Canada and Indonesia to introduce advanced water measurement technology in Jambi City. This project is being carried out through close collaboration with Perumdam Tirta Mayang Jambi City and the Canadian Commercial Corporation. Additionally, GHD has recently completed the ASEAN SAF 2050 Outlook report on the sustainable aviation fuel (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) supply chain in Indonesia and other ASEAN countries, as part of a joint research project between Canada and ASEAN.
The GHD office in Indonesia is led by Phil Baker, Principal and Senior Executive Adviser at GHD, with over 40 years of experience in the energy, resources, and international development sectors in more than 20 countries.

His experience encompasses strategy, investment advisory, and project development and implementation in the Asia-Pacific region and globally.
“The presence of our office in Jakarta allows us to work more closely with clients in Indonesia, as well as our global clients who are investing and expanding here. Our main business focus includes the energy, resources, water, and environment sectors,” Baker explained.
