PT Hutama Karya (Persero) has recorded progress on the construction of Senen Housing in Central Jakarta reaching 99.04 per cent as of 28 April 2026. This achievement means the temporary housing (huntara) for residents along the railway tracks in Kramat Ward, Senen Subdistrict, could be completed sooner than the 15 June 2026 target. Acting Executive Vice President (EVP) Secretary of Hutama Karya, Hamdani, stated that the construction acceleration is intended to enable the community to occupy more decent housing as soon as possible. “The acceleration of construction is not just about meeting the completion date, but about providing a faster solution for the community who have been living along the railway tracks,” said Hamdani. The construction of Senen Housing is a follow-up to President Prabowo Subianto’s instructions to provide decent housing for residents in railway track areas. In line with directives from the Head of the State-Owned Enterprises Management Agency and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Danantara, Dony Oskaria, and Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait or Ara, Hutama Karya is accelerating the completion of 324 housing units along with supporting facilities on approximately 1.61 hectares of land owned by InJourney Airports. “We want to ensure the community gets a more decent, safe, and organised place to live. This huntara is a quick solution while we prepare permanent arrangements,” said Ara. This programme is developed through collaboration between the government and SOEs to provide more decent, safe, and organised housing for low-income residents in the city centre. The construction acceleration is also supported by the optimisation of manpower on site. At the peak of the project implementation, hundreds of workers from Hutama Karya and other SOEs were deployed to ensure all construction stages proceed as planned. Senen Housing is designed as decent temporary housing with unit sizes of around 4.5 x 4.5 metres. Each unit is equipped with a bed, wardrobe, and other basic facilities. The construction of this housing is expected to be utilised by residents soon as a quick solution while the government prepares long-term urban area arrangements that are more orderly, safe, and humane. “Hutama Karya is committed to being a strategic partner of the government in providing social infrastructure that has a direct impact. We want Senen Housing to be an example of how measured construction acceleration can bring real change to residents in a short time,” concluded Hamdani.
