Get Ready! Purbaya to Open CPNS Positions at Customs in May

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has stated that the recruitment process for new employees at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) will begin in May 2026.

He explained that this recruitment process is an effort to realise the need for new customs officers that he has been advocating since the end of last year, but which has yet to be realised.

“We’ve been saying for a long time to open 380 positions at Customs for high school graduates,” said Purbaya at his office in Jakarta on Tuesday (7/4/2026).

Purbaya emphasised that the job openings for field customs officers are specifically for graduates of senior high school, or SMA.

“Because I also need people at the technical level in the field. Perhaps next month we’ll open the 300 positions for SMA graduates. So next month,” said Purbaya.

On that occasion, Purbaya also stressed that the budget for procuring prospective civil servants (CASN) for 2026, including for CPNS formations, is actually already available.

However, he said that the execution of its implementation is entirely in the hands of the Minister for State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB), Rini Widyantini.

“It’s with the Minister of PANRB,” Purbaya asserted firmly.
