Get Ready for Traffic Jams: Peak Return Flow of Eid Predicted for Today
Users of the roads preparing to return to Jakarta and its surroundings are urged to be vigilant. This is because the peak of the return flow for Eid 2026 is predicted to occur today, Tuesday (24/3/2026), resulting in an increased potential for traffic jams on several toll road sections. The Director General of Land Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation, Aan Suhanan, stated that the outbound flow period has ended following the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H on 21 March 2026. Currently, vehicle movements are dominated by the return flow towards the cities of origin. He also reminded the public to anticipate the peak return flow time, which falls on 24 March 2026. In line with the prediction of a surge in vehicles today, various traffic engineering measures have been prepared. One of them is the implementation of a one-way system that started on 23 March 2026 at 12:00 WIB. This scheme applies from KM 421 of the Semarang-Solo toll road to KM 70 of the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road to accommodate vehicles heading to Jakarta. In addition, contraflow is also enforced on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road section, specifically from KM 70 to KM 47 since 23 March 2026 at 14:00 WIB. With the potential for a vehicle surge at the peak return flow today, road users are urged to plan their trips well, monitor the latest traffic conditions, and follow the directions of the officers to maintain smoothness and safety during the journey.
