Get Ready: 30,000 Prospective Red and White Cooperative Managers to Undergo Further Training

The Ministry of Cooperatives (Kemenkop) has prepared the next stage of training for prospective managers of the Red and White Village Cooperatives (KDMP). After previously undergoing state defence briefings, 30,000 prospective managers will receive further managerial and competency training from 17 to 31 July 2026. Deputy Minister of Cooperatives Farida Farichah stated that the ministry has prepared 12 training modules to equip the prospective managers in running the cooperatives. The materials provided include the philosophy and practical regulations of cooperatives, institutional and governance matters, operational management, and the digitalisation of KDMP. “We will give them this as motivation, that the Red and White Village Cooperatives, when managed professionally, can become professional and profitable institutions,” Farida said during a press conference at the Ministry of Cooperatives office in Jakarta on Thursday. Farida explained that the managerial and competency training will still be held at the training command posts, the same locations used for the state defence briefings. However, she stressed that the materials and instructors for this advanced training will be coordinated directly by the Ministry of Cooperatives. In addition to the training, the prospective managers will also undergo professional certification from the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) once the cooperative managerial curriculum is completed. “After the cooperative managerial curriculum materials are finished, there will be professional certification from BNSP. This is solely to address public doubts that this training is not a makeshift or ceremonial exercise, but that the curriculum has been coordinated with the relevant authorised institutions,” she said. Meanwhile, Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono said the number of prospective KDMP managers currently undergoing training has reached 30,000 people. They are scheduled to begin being placed in their respective village cooperatives in early August. “Yes, later their placement will be adjusted according to their regions of origin. Starting in early August, the first week of August,” Ferry added.
