Germany to fund climate research
BOGOR, West Java: The German government has provided DM 100 million (US$45.5 million) to help develop research on the climate in Indonesia.
German Ambassador to Indonesia Gerhard Fulda said on Monday that the climate research was vital in developing a forestry policy for the country.
Fulda was speaking on the sidelines of a seminar on the stability of the rain forests in Southeast Asia, which runs until Thursday.
Head of the Indonesian Chapter of the Stability of Rain Forest Margins (Storma) Edi Guhardja welcomed the cooperation between Germany and Indonesia, saying that it would benefit both countries. --JP
