Germany Prepares for Potential Military Confrontation with Russia
Moscow (ANTARA) - Germany is assessed to have set a course for preparing for a possible military confrontation with Russia in the coming years and is not hiding it, said Russia’s Ambassador to Germany, Sergey Nechaev, in an interview with RIA Novosti.
He stated that Berlin is currently focused on supplying drones, their components, and other armaments to the Kiev government, while at the same time denying accusations that they are a party to the conflict.
“However, there is no need to have illusions; Germany has doctrinally set a course for preparing a military confrontation with Russia in the coming years and is not hiding it. The public is certainly not enthusiastic about this scenario, but its voice is drowned out by strong militaristic propaganda from the government, military, defence industry lobbies, and mainstream media. This is the reality,” said Nechaev.
Moscow states that arms supplies to Ukraine hinder conflict resolution efforts and directly involve NATO countries.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that every cargo containing weapons for Ukraine would be a legitimate target for Russia.
Meanwhile, the Kremlin describes Western arms supplies to Ukraine as obstructing peace negotiations.
