German students met in Serpong

TANGERANG: More than 100 students from German schools in Bangkok, Manila, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore gathered at the Deutsche International School in Bumi Serpong Damai, Serpong, Tangerang for a three-day sports games that started on Friday.

The annual games, held for the sixth time this year, involves German school students from the South East Asian countries.

"This annual event is aimed at building friendship and spirit of competition among German school students in South East Asian countries," the school principal Wolfgang Hinners told The Jakarta Post before the opening ceremony on Thursday evening.

Contestants would compete in five games: swimming, volleyball, basketball, track and field, and high jump.--JP
