German President to Meet Prabowo Tomorrow, Police to Implement Traffic Diversions on 10 Roads
President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, will meet President Prabowo Subianto at the State Palace tomorrow. Several roads in Jakarta will be closed as the motorcade passes.
Director of Traffic for the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Senior Commissioner Komaruddin, stated that traffic diversions will be implemented on Monday (15/6) starting at 08:00 WIB. He mentioned that temporary escorts and traffic arrangements will be in place on several main Jakarta roads as a mark of respect.
Based on a map shared by the Jakarta Traffic Police, at least 10 roads in Jakarta will be subject to closure starting at 08:00 WIB. The majority of the affected roads are protocol streets.
The list includes: Jalan Halim Perdanakusuma, Jalan MT. Haryono, Jalan Gatot Subroto, Jalan Asia Afrika, Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin, Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Jalan Garnisun Dalam, Jalan Prof Satrio, Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara, and Jalan Perwira.
Police have confirmed the road closures are only temporary. The traffic diversions will be in effect only as the Steinmeier motorcade passes and the roads will be reopened immediately afterwards.
“Road closures will only be implemented when the state guest motorcade passes,” the Jakarta Traffic Police stated.
