President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier has arrived in Indonesia on Monday (15/6/2026). Based on CNBC Indonesia’s observation, the aircraft carrying Steinmeier landed at the Indonesian Air Force’s Halim Perdanakusuma Base in East Jakarta at around 09.15 Western Indonesian Time.

Steinmeier was accompanied by his wife, Elke Büdenbender. Upon descending the stairs, Steinmeier was welcomed by Indonesian Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin. The two shook hands warmly and engaged in a brief conversation. Afterwards, Steinmeier also greeted German Ambassador to Indonesia Ralf Beste and Indonesian Ambassador to Germany Abdul Kadir Jailani.

Steinmeier and his wife then watched a Yapong dance performance, a traditional Betawi dance created by artist Bagong Kussudiardja in 1977. Following the performance, they entered a prepared vehicle to head to the Presidential Palace in Jakarta.

According to the schedule, Steinmeier is set to meet with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace at 11.00 Western Indonesian Time.
