German Man Dies of Electrocution in Sanur, Partner is Jennifer Coppen's Former Mother-in-Law
PP, a German citizen, was found dead in the bathroom of his house in Sanur. He was reportedly in a relationship with Yaowaret Prawat, the former mother-in-law of artist Jennifer Coppen.
Yaowaret Prawat, also known as Yaya Kamari, is the biological mother of the late Dali Wassink, Jennifer’s former husband who died in 2024 in an accident.
Police sources revealed that Yaya and PP had been living together for some time at Jalan Kutat Lestari Gang Pelanggi Number 14, Desa Sanur Kauh, South Denpasar.
Yaya was the first to discover PP lying motionless in the bathroom on Monday (25/5/2026) at around 17:40 local time. The victim is suspected to have died from an electric shock from a water heater that had short-circuited. “The witness repeatedly called out to the victim, but there was no response,” he said.
According to witness testimony, at the time of the incident, PP and Yaya were both showering in different bathrooms. After showering, Yaya found that PP had not yet come out of the bathroom.
Becoming suspicious, she then checked on PP. When she entered the bathroom, she found the victim in a position as if prostrating and not moving.
The Head of Public Relations of the Denpasar Police, Iptu Gede Adi Saputra Jaya, previously stated that because Yaya was panicked by the situation, she then asked for help from local residents. Several residents came to help evacuate the victim’s body from the bathroom onto a mattress.
However, during the evacuation process, one of the residents claimed to have been electrocuted when holding the metal shower hose in the bathroom.
Police officers who arrived at the location immediately carried out a crime scene investigation. From the initial examination, police found no signs of violence on the victim’s body.
However, burn marks were found on the back of the victim’s body. In addition, traces of the victim’s skin were found on the shower hose. “The preliminary suspicion is that the victim died from an electric shock due to a short circuit in the water heater,” he added.
When found, the victim was not wearing any clothes and his body was already stiff. After being evacuated, the victim’s body was taken to Bali Mandara Hospital using an ambulance from the Denpasar City BPBD. However, after a medical examination, the victim was declared dead.
