Gerindra Women's Wing Distributes Hundreds of Rice Packages to Bogor Residents
Member of Commission IV of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the Gerindra Party faction, Endang Setyawati Thohari, has distributed hundreds of food aid packages in the form of 5-kilogram rice packs to underprivileged residents across several areas of Bogor City. The activity is a form of social concern and an effort to help the community cope with the pressures of daily economic needs. The Gerindra Party cadre, whose party is led by President Prabowo Subianto, went directly into the community to hand over the aid to the beneficiaries. In addition to distributing food aid, Endang also engaged in dialogue with residents to absorb their aspirations and listen to various issues faced by the community at the grassroots level. The distribution of aid was focused on densely populated areas, particularly in Gunung Batu and Mulyaharja sub-districts. The majority of recipient residents are daily labourers and informal sector workers who are vulnerable to the impact of rising living costs. Endang’s presence was enthusiastically welcomed by the community. Many residents took the opportunity to convey the economic conditions they are facing while expressing hope that social assistance programmes can continue. On the occasion, Endang affirmed that the activity was grounded in the spirit of mutual cooperation and care for others, especially for communities needing help to meet their families’ basic needs. “We fully understand that the current economic situation demands we support each other. This 5-kilogram rice aid may seem modest, but we hope it can provide assurance that the state and fellow citizens are present when they are needed. We want to ensure that the kitchens of underprivileged residents in Bogor City keep cooking,” Endang said in a written statement. (prf/ega)
