Gerindra to Review Survey Results on Public Satisfaction with Prabowo

Jakarta, VIVA – The Daily Chairman of the Gerindra Party’s Central Executive Board and Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, has said his party will study the latest survey results on public satisfaction with the performance of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.

“Of course we are studying and reviewing them. The survey results are certainly a form of input. We will compile them later,” Dasco told reporters at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, 30 July 2026.

Dasco said survey results that prove accurate to actual conditions could serve as material for evaluation by the government.

“We hope the government will then follow up if the review finds several things that are indeed happening at present,” he said.

Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC) recorded public satisfaction with President Prabowo’s performance at 51.1 percent, based on a survey conducted from 5 to 19 July 2026.

SMRC Executive Director Deni Irvani, when releasing the survey results on Sunday (26/7), said the satisfaction level had fallen compared with the November 2025 survey, which stood at 81.2 percent.

Deni detailed that in SMRC’s latest survey, around 4.8 percent of citizens said they were very satisfied with the president’s performance, 46.3 percent fairly satisfied, 35 percent dissatisfied, 11.9 percent not satisfied at all, and 2.1 percent did not know or did not answer.

According to him, the decline in public satisfaction is closely linked to citizens’ negative assessment of economic, political and law enforcement conditions.

“This decline in public satisfaction is closely related to the erosion of positive sentiment towards the economic, political and law enforcement situation,” Deni said in a written statement.

The survey population comprised all Indonesian citizens with the right to vote, of whom 749 were selected at random.

Respondents with telephones were interviewed by phone (83.8 percent), while those without telephones were interviewed face to face (16.2 percent).

The survey’s margin of error is approximately 3.7 percent. (Ant)
