Gerindra Successfully Drives Innovative Financing Solutions to Accelerate Regional Development
The Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) has officially passed the 2027 State Budget Law (UU APBN) amounting to Rp 4,106.26 trillion. Within the 2027 State Budget, the portion allocated for Transfers to Regions (TKD) has increased by 5.5 per cent from the 2026 outlook to Rp 735 trillion, and regions can now access innovative financing instruments sourced from central government investment operators.
The Chairman of the Gerindra Party Faction in the DPR RI, Budisatrio Djiwandono, emphasised that this innovation is an initiative by the Gerindra Party to champion the regional development agenda while remaining mindful of the State Budget’s capacity.
“We understand that the State Budget has limitations, especially amidst various global challenges and uncertainties, but regional development must not be hindered. Therefore, the Gerindra Party Faction has introduced innovative regional financing solutions within the 2027 State Budget Law, which allows regional governments to obtain financing from central government investment operators. Through this mechanism, regional governments will have access to financing for various strategic development programmes without reducing national fiscal capacity,” said Budi in a statement on Wednesday (30/09/2026).
As a member of the DPR RI representing the East Kalimantan constituency, Budi recognises the importance of budget availability and flexibility to ensure that regional development programmes can run at maximum capacity and provide direct benefits to the community.
“Regions in Indonesia, such as East Kalimantan, make a very large contribution to the national economy. As a representative of East Kalimantan, I am obligated and will continue to fight for regional fiscal interests to ensure they are optimally accommodated,” said Budi.
Budi also expressed his appreciation and support for the government’s steps to continue strengthening the fundamentals of the State Budget, particularly regarding revenue, by increasing the tax ratio target to 10.4% of GDP in 2027 to support various strategic programmes at both national and regional levels.
“Increasing the tax ratio is an important foundation for the State Budget so that the financing capacity for various programmes at the centre and in the regions, which directly impact the community, can continue to be increased. The Gerindra Party Fation will continue to oversee the agenda for increasing state tax revenue to ensure it proceeds optimally and is carried out without increasing the tax burden on the public and the business world,” Budi concluded.
