Gerindra says Sudaryono has good performance for BGN chief post
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Gerindra Party spokesperson Bahtra Banong stated that Sudaryono has a good performance record to fill the position of Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), replacing Nanik S. Deyang who has resigned. “I think his work at the Ministry of Agriculture has been good and he is also still young, so he certainly has great energy to manage BGN going forward,” Bahtra said at the DPR RI Building, Jakarta, Wednesday. He expressed hope that Sudaryono can be more progressive in leading BGN, including improving the management of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme. “So that BGN can be better in the future and that is certainly our shared hope,” he said. On the other hand, Bahtra stressed that Nanik’s resignation from BGN was purely due to health reasons. “So, there is no connection to other matters because she wants to concentrate on treatment,” he said. Nanik’s resignation as Head of BGN was confirmed by Presidential Special Assistant for Communication and Policy Dirgayuza Setiawan on Wednesday morning. “Today, Mrs Nanik Deyang bid farewell to President Prabowo to undergo heart treatment and simultaneously resigned as Head of the National Nutrition Agency,” Yuza said. In a statement uploaded to her social media, Nanik explained that her resignation was related to heart treatment abroad. “I told the President with a thousand apologies that I might have to resign as Head of BGN, for the sake of my health, and because the President was concerned and felt sorry for me, the President agreed. However, I was asked to continue overseeing BGN,” Nanik wrote. Meanwhile, Sudaryono was inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Wednesday afternoon.
