Gerindra Praises Courage of LCC MPR Participant Ocha, Suggests Jury Apologise
Gerindra faction chairman in the MPR RI, Habiburokhman, praised the courage of the student from SMA Negeri 1 Pontianak, Josepha Alexandra or Ocha, who immediately protested when her answer was deemed incorrect in the MPR Quiz Competition (LCC). He described Ocha as persistent in fighting for the truth.
“We appreciate the student from SMA Negeri 1 Pontianak, Josepha Alexandra alias Ocha, a quiz competition participant who persistently fought for the truth in the event. Her steadfastness and bravery in upholding the truth are qualities we should all emulate,” Habiburokhman said in his statement on Tuesday (12/5/2026).
Habiburokhman expressed regret over the attitude of the judging panel and the event host. He viewed the jury and host as anti-critical and stated that they should apologise to Ocha.
“On the other hand, we regret the attitude of the jury, the organising committee, including the host, who did not acknowledge their mistake and showed an anti-critical stance. They should apologise to Ocha,” he said.
Habiburokhman stated that the jury’s mistake in the quiz competition could not be taken lightly. He requested that the series of competitions be temporarily halted and the jury replaced.
“We should not let our intention to provide education become counterproductive. We propose that the jury for the event be replaced and the event temporarily halted until there is a serious guarantee of improvement,” he said.
The MPR RI has spoken out regarding the viral video of the Final Quiz Competition (LCC) on the Four Pillars of the MPR RI at the West Kalimantan provincial level. MPR RI Secretary General Siti Fauziah stated that they respect public attention and input regarding the dynamics in the competition.
In the circulating video viewed on Monday (11/5), the jury gave different scores for the same answer from participants. In the competition, Group C from SMAN 1 Pontianak received a minus five score for an answer related to the process of selecting BPK members.
However, a similar answer given by Group B from SMAN 1 Sambas was awarded 10 points by the same jury member, Head of the Assessment Bureau of the MPR RI Secretariat General, Dyastasita. Participants from Group C protested, feeling their answer was the same. However, the jury stated that Group C’s answer did not clearly mention the Regional Representative Council (DPD).
