Gerindra Party Member Distributes Rice to 900 Residents in Central Bangka
A total of 900 beneficiaries spread across nine villages have received 5kg of rice each. The distribution took place in Lubuk Simpang and Kulur villages with the support of Perum Bulog and Pupuk Indonesia, Melati stated in a written release on Wednesday (3/6/2026).
The ‘Melati Food Programme’, initiated by a Gerindra Party cadre, is an effort to help meet the community’s food needs and strengthen family access to basic commodities amidst various economic challenges facing the public.
The Gerindra Party member expressed hope that the food assistance would lighten the burden on the community and serve as a demonstration of the people’s representatives’ presence in addressing the basic needs of citizens.
In addition to distributing aid, the activity was utilised as a platform to directly absorb community aspirations. Residents from various villages in the Lubuk Besar District shared various inputs and hopes regarding development needs, the agricultural sector, fisheries, and community welfare.
According to Melati, absorbing these aspirations is a vital part of her duties as a member of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) to ensure that various community needs can be advocated through targeted policies and programmes. “We hope that the spirit of mutual cooperation and social concern continues to grow within the community, while simultaneously strengthening family food security in the Central Bangka region,” she concluded.
