Gerindra Party Cadre Zeng Wei Jian Passes Away

Gerindra Party cadre Lie Suratno, known by his pen name Zeng Wei Jian, has passed away. He died on Saturday night at Siloam Semanggi Hospital in Jakarta after suffering from a liver condition.

Deputy Chairman of the Gerindra Party and Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Habiburokhman, expressed his deep condolences. He noted that the deceased’s original name was Lie Suratno, with the family nickname Ken Ken.

Habiburokhman described Zeng as a fellow 1998 activist with whom he had continued to struggle until his passing. He remembered him as a good and very humanitarian person.

He added that Zeng was a Gerindra cadre and a fanatical supporter of President Prabowo Subianto, though he never wished to run for a legislative seat.
