Gerindra Party spokesperson Sugiat Santoso has emphasised that President Prabowo Subianto’s ‘oke’ rating for his government’s two-year performance is not a unilateral claim. He stated that the assessment is the result of objective reflection on the entire cabinet’s hard work and aligns with public perception. Sugiat pointed to an Indonesia Political Opinion (IPO) survey dated 8 August 2026, which indicated a public satisfaction level of 63 percent. ‘The success in implementing cross-sectoral programmes over the past two years is the fruit of political stability and cabinet team solidarity,’ Sugiat said in Jakarta on Sunday (9/8/2026). The Deputy Chairman of House Commission XIII outlined several tangible indicators behind the ‘oke’ rating. These include the resilience of the domestic economy amidst global turmoil, where the government maintained subsidised fuel prices to protect public purchasing power and control inflation, even as other nations raised energy prices. Sugiat also highlighted the performance of the Danantara Investment Management Agency, which recorded a significant financial performance increase of 300 to 400 percent over the past year. He described this achievement as proof of the President’s commitment to improving governance and closing loopholes in the state budget. Despite the positive appraisal, Sugiat reminded the government not to be complacent. He said the ‘oke’ rating should spur ministers to work faster and more effectively, while remaining open to criticism and public oversight to ensure programmes are well targeted. Previously, at the launch of a book by Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia on Friday (7/8), President Prabowo Subianto reiterated his vision to empower the most vulnerable groups in society. The President stated that a leader’s success is measured by their ability to make the poor smile and have hope. ‘I think, we will always be on the right track,’ President Prabowo asserted, expressing confidence that the government’s direction serves the interests of the people.
