Gerindra Legislator Distributes 3,000 Fasting Meals to Commuters in Palu City
Longki Djanggola, a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) from the Gerindra Party, along with party cadres, youth members, and sympathisers, conducted a social initiative distributing takjil to the public in Palu City during the sacred month of Ramadan. A total of 3,000 packets of takjil were distributed to commuters passing through three different locations in Palu City.
The initiative was designed to assist those still travelling as the time for breaking the fast approached. Longki stated that the distribution represented an expression of concern and an effort to spread blessings during Ramadan.
“For commuters still on their journey as the time to break the fast draws near, I hope this takjil can serve as an encouragement and bring the blessings of Ramadan to us all,” he said in a written statement on Tuesday (10 March 2026).
The distribution of takjil was carried out with the involvement of Gerindra Party cadres, youth members, and sympathisers who took to the streets directly to distribute breaking-fast meals to the public.
The social initiative received a positive response from commuters passing through. Many of them felt assisted as they were able to enjoy takjil immediately when the time to break the fast arrived, even whilst still travelling.
“In addition to being an expression of social concern, we also hope to strengthen relations between elected representatives and the public, and to foster a spirit of sharing during the Ramadan season,” he concluded.
