Gerindra: Do Not Attempt to Drive a Wedge Between Prabowo and Gibran

Secretary of the Gerindra Party faction in the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR), Bambang Haryadi, stated that his party always supports the administration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka as a unified entity. Bambang urged that no issues be allowed to divide Prabowo and Gibran.

“This is because they are one unit. So do not let these issues become an attempt to divide and create cracks, or to create a separating chasm between the President and Vice President,” Bambang said at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (24/6/2026).

Bambang asserted that the Gerindra Faction in the DPR fully supports the Prabowo-Gibran administration. He also said that current issues linking Gibran to certain incidents do not need to be addressed.

“We, the Gerindra Faction, will fully support the continuity of the administration of President Prabowo and Mas Gibran,” Bambang stated.

On that occasion, Bambang also denied other rumours regarding a special meeting led by Gerindra Faction Chairman Budi Djiwandono to monitor Gibran’s movements. He confirmed that the report was untrue.

“In every faction meeting, we are always attended by all leaders, Mr Andre, and several colleagues as well. And usually Mas Budi, as chairman, leads, and I also assist. Regarding the issue of monitoring, I can confirm that it is a hoax, it is not true,” Bambang said.

Bambang explained that faction meetings are indeed held routinely to mitigate problems in each electoral district. He added that the meetings are also held to ensure the implementation of government programmes runs smoothly.

“And secondly, regarding the availability of basic necessities. Because we must see whether the level of public purchasing power is still maintained or not. That is actually all,” he said.
