Gerindra DKI Apologises for Party Logo on BYD Tech-Culture Fest Poster
Gerindra DKI Jakarta has apologised following social media backlash over the party’s logo appearing on a poster for BYD’s Tech-Culture Fest held at South Parking of Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), Senayan, Central Jakarta, on 23-24 May 2026. The poster featuring Gerindra’s logo, initially shared by Gerindra Jakarta, later became a hot topic on social media. “We sincerely apologise for the public commotion caused by our recent post,” Gerindra Jakarta stated on their Instagram account @dpdgerindradkijakarta on Sunday (24/5). In the post, Gerindra Jakarta said the intention behind including their party logo was to help disseminate information about the event. They stated there was no intention to rival, imitate, or take over the event. However, Gerindra Jakarta fully acknowledged a critical oversight in failing to include the official event name. This led to misunderstandings and harm to various parties. Gerindra Jakarta stated this would prompt a thorough review to act more carefully, judiciously, and professionally in future. “We accept full responsibility for this mistake,” they wrote. Blame social media admins Separately, Gerindra DKI Jakarta representative Rani Mauliani admitted a mistake by the media team regarding the poster featuring the party logo. “I can represent here that there may have been a mistake, misunderstanding, or oversight by our social media team admins,” Rani said in a written statement on Sunday (24/5). Rani stated there was no ill intent from Gerindra Jakarta and that this was purely an administrative error. “We merely intended to share what we thought was a spectacular event with Jakarta residents to ensure wide dissemination,” she added. Rani again apologised to the public, particularly Jakarta residents, for the mistake and urged against further escalation. She also stressed that Gerindra Jakarta never claimed BYD’s event as their own. Meanwhile, BYD Indonesia clarified that the Tech-Culture Fest was held independently and was not affiliated with any organisation. On their Instagram account @byd_indonesia, they stated all event activities were purely informative, entertaining, and aimed at providing an experience for participants and attendees. “All guest performers at the BYD Tech-Culture Fest are also unaffiliated with any party!” they wrote.
