Gerindra Deputy Mourns Death of BPK Member Haerul Saleh in Fire

Habiburokhman reminisced about Haerul Saleh, with whom he had shared a room during Gerindra’s cadre training. He described Haerul as an attentive individual. “He was one of my close friends. Before the 2014 election, we shared a room during Gerindra’s cadre training. He was very kind, always asking what he could do to help me,” said Habiburokhman on Friday (8/5/2026). Before becoming a member of the BPK RI, Haerul Saleh had served as a member of the DPR RI in the previous period from the Gerindra Party. Habiburokhman prayed that Haerul Saleh would be forgiven for all his sins and granted the best place by Allah SWT. “He was a young, intelligent man who passed away at just 43 years old,” said the Chairman of DPR RI’s Commission III. According to the official BPK website, Haerul Saleh served as a DPR member since 2014. He had sat on Commission XI and was involved in the Legislation Body (Baleg) and the House Consultative Body (Bamus) of the DPR RI. He represented the electoral district of Southeast Sulawesi and served on Commission XI. Subsequently, he was elected as the IV Member of the BPK on 19 April 2022. The IV Member of the BPK RI is responsible for auditing the management and accountability of state finances, particularly in the fields of food, natural resources, and infrastructure. His duties include leading the Main Audit Office of State Finances IV (AKN IV) to ensure accountability of government agencies and state-owned enterprises. The fire was reported by residents at 07.53 WIB. Haerul Saleh’s house is located at Jl Teratai Blok G8 RT 03 RW 02, Tanjung Barat, South Jakarta. The local RT Chairman then requested assistance from the fire department to handle the blaze. The fire is suspected to have originated from a highly flammable chemical liquid.
