Gerindra Denies Instructing Cadres to Dominate Free Nutritious Meal Programme Kitchens
The Central Executive Board (DPP) of the Gerindra Party has spoken out after several of its cadres were reported to be listed as owners of Nutritional Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) for the free nutritious meal programme (MBG). Gerindra Party DPP Chairman Prasetyo Hadi asserted that there was no party instruction for cadres to establish SPPGs. He stated that SPPG ownership by a number of its cadres is a personal responsibility. “Because the party’s name has been dragged into this, what we can convey on behalf of the party is that there is certainly no institutional instruction,” said Pras at the Coordinating Ministry for Food office on Thursday (11/6). “If there are those considered cadres or individuals involved, it is on their own initiative,” he added. Even so, he added, SPPG ownership by cadres or party members is not prohibited. He said what is not allowed is violating procedural rules. According to Pras, the Gerindra Party has repeatedly cautioned that SPPGs owned by its party cadres must maintain quality. “And we need to convey that within the party internally we have repeatedly stressed to our fellow Gerindra Party members who own SPPG kitchens that they must uphold quality according to the standards we have set,” he said.
