Gerakan Indonesia ASRI: South Sumatra Police Clean Vihara Environment in Prabumulih
The activity was centred at Vihara Prajna Maitreya on Monday (11/5/2026). Police personnel, together with local residents, worked hand in hand to clean the environment and public facilities.
Prabumulih Police Chief AKBP Bobby Kusumawardhana, through Deputy Chief Kompol Chindi Helyadi, directly led the implementation of the activity, which was attended by around 30 personnel along with community elements and the temple’s management.
The environmental clean-up action was carried out in the inner and outer areas of the vihara, surrounding roads, and nearby residential neighbourhoods. The activity is part of the implementation of the ‘Belida’ programme, which is a social innovation by Polda Sumsel to strengthen care for environmental cleanliness and public spaces.
In addition to maintaining cleanliness and environmental aesthetics, this activity serves as a means to strengthen relations between the Indonesian National Police (Polri) and the community through a humanistic approach that directly addresses the social needs of residents.
The ‘Belida’ programme also represents tangible support for government policies in building healthy, safe, and comfortable environments as part of community social resilience.
During the implementation, the community and vihara management expressed appreciation for the active involvement of Polri personnel who directly participated in the communal work alongside residents.
“The presence of Polri personnel in this activity is a form of real service to the community. A clean and green environment will create comfort while strengthening togetherness between Polri and the community,” stated Kompol Chindi.
Head of Public Relations of South Sumatra Regional Police Kombes Pol Nandang Mu’min Wijaya added that the ‘Belida’ programme is a real implementation of the Polri Presisi spirit, which prioritises humanistic service and direct benefits to the community.
“Polda Sumsel is committed to supporting government programmes aimed at improving the quality of life for the community, including the Gerakan Indonesia ASRI. The Belida programme is a tangible form of Polri’s presence in keeping the environment clean, healthy, and comfortable for the community,” emphasised Kombes Nandang.
The environmental clean-up activity concluded at 10.30 WIB in a safe, orderly, and conducive situation. Prabumulih Police will ensure similar programmes are continuously implemented in various other strategic locations within the jurisdiction of Prabumulih Police as part of strengthening social services and partnerships with the community.
