George ignores police summons

SALATIGA, Central Java: Outspoken scholar George Junus
Aditjondro has ignored a summons from the Yogyakarta police for
the third time.

He is wanted for questioning about statements attacking the
government he allegedly made at a seminar early this year.

"I can't go because I'm still celebrating Christmas," George
said of the latest summons.

He ignored the first summons because the document did not
stipulate whether he was a suspect or a witness. He ignored a
second summons because police did not write the date when he had
to see the Yogyakarta police. (har/sim)
