Geopolitical Tensions Rise, ESGAN and ASPEBINDO Prepare ESG Strategy to Strengthen National Energy Industry
The ESG Association of Nusantara (ESGAN) held a strategic audience with Energy Hub and the Indonesian Energy, Minerals, and Coal Suppliers Association (ASPEBINDO) to explore collaboration in organising a seminar titled “ESG & Sustainability in an Age of Geopolitical Disruption: Building Resilient and Anti-Fragile Enterprises,” planned for May 2026.
This audience serves as an important momentum in strengthening cross-sector synergies, particularly in the fields of energy, mining, and sustainability, amid increasing global uncertainties due to geopolitical dynamics that directly impact world energy and economic stability.
ASPEBINDO General Chairman Anggawira stated that this collaboration is highly relevant to the current needs of the industry. “In the midst of global dynamics full of uncertainties, the energy and mining sectors require a more adaptive approach. ESG is no longer just a trend but has become an important part in building the resilience and competitiveness of the national industry,” said Anggawira on Tuesday (31/3).
From the ESGAN side, Winston Jusuf emphasised the importance of cross-sector collaboration in facing global challenges. “The current geopolitical conditions demand that companies not only survive but also become anti-fragile. ESG provides the right framework to ensure business growth remains aligned with environmental, social, and good governance aspects,” said Winston.
Meanwhile, ESGAN Deputy General Chairman Husni Kamil added that this seminar is expected to become a concrete and solution-oriented dialogue space. “We want to present a forum that not only discusses concepts but also produces real recommendations for business actors and regulators in implementing ESG amid global disruptions,” he said.
Through this collaboration, ESGAN, Energy Hub, and ASPEBINDO hope to present a forum that brings together various stakeholders, from government, industry players, academics, to practitioners, to strengthen the implementation of ESG in Indonesia.
The seminar planned for May 2026 is expected to become one of the important milestones in driving industry transformation towards more sustainable, resilient, and adaptive practices to global changes.
