Genon Opens First International Office in Jakarta to Lead AI Transformation in Asia
Jakarta, Indonesia–(ANTARA/Business Wire)– Genon is a South Korean start-up specialising in generative AI solutions. On 24 February (Tuesday), Genon announced the establishment of its first international subsidiary in Jakarta, namely “PT. Genon Global Indonesia”. This move marks the official launch of its market expansion to drive AI transformation (AX) worldwide.
Previously, Tae Ryong Kim led the exploration of international markets while serving as Head of Global Business Development at Genon. He has now been appointed as President and Managing Director of PT. Genon Global Indonesia.
This new office marks both geographical expansion and the culmination of a three-year global strategy. Since 2023, Genon has consistently built its international presence by successfully implementing various Proof of Concept (PoC) projects for automated quality inspection solutions powered by Vision AI. The target of these projects was footwear factories of various well-known fashion brands in Korea and around the world. Last year, all these efforts generated significant revenue, proving the competitiveness of the technology and the profitability of the business model.
Currently, the industrial sector in Indonesia is growing rapidly, but the availability of AI-based solutions is still relatively new. Genon recognised this structural gap from the outset and took proactive steps to bridge it. With a population of over 270 million, Indonesia is one of the most significant digital transformation opportunities in Southeast Asia. Genon hopes that its technology will play a key role in driving the adoption of AI in Indonesia.
From its headquarters in Jakarta, Genon will increase the use of Vision AI quality monitoring solutions at the regional level while also developing generative AI workflow automation to expand the reach of its platform across various use cases in companies. Genon’s subsidiary in Indonesia will become a key hub for AI transformation, as it accelerates its expansion into the Singapore, Vietnam, and Malaysia markets.
