GenHalal Holds Second Mastery Class to Strengthen Halal Lifestyle Advocacy in Indonesia
GenHalal has once again organised the second batch of its Halal Lifestyle Mastery Class at the central office of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI). Under the theme “Transform Your Lifestyle into Da’wah and Your Influence into Sadaqah,” the training successfully attracted dozens of participants working together to amplify and strengthen the halal lifestyle ecosystem in Indonesia.
The founder of GenHalal, Dian Widay0adanti, expressed her gratitude for the high level of public interest in this second batch. She noted that the increasing enthusiasm of participants serves as a positive signal that public concern regarding the halal status of products continues to grow. “Alhamdulillah, we have held the second batch of the GenHalal Mastery Class at the MUI central office, and the enthusiasm is even greater this time. More people are caring and want to join GenHalal, because here we move together to spread awareness and educate about halal in Indonesia,” Dian Widayanti told reporters on Saturday.
In its implementation, GenHalal collaborated with the Institute for Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Research (LPPOM) to provide deep understanding regarding the halal status of various products. The session featured interactive elements, such as a “Guess the Status” game, where participants analysed various daily consumer products to test their ability to distinguish between halal, syubhat (doubtful), or haram products.
Beyond classroom-based material, participants were provided with practical field experience. This included field visits and direct product analysis designed to train participants in detecting and identifying the suitability of halal products in their surrounding environments.
This action-based educational initiative received full support from Halal Content Creator Anca Syah, who attended as a speaker and co-founder of GenHalal. He emphasised the importance of regenerating halal educators so that literacy regarding the halal industry can reach the public more broadly and sustainably. “The hope is that more people will care and want to learn about halal, so that the responsibility of sharing halal information in Indonesia does not rest on the same few people. It is hoped that GenHalal members maintain their spirit so we can collectively develop the halal industry in Indonesia,” said Anca Syah.
Through the second batch of this programme, GenHalhal is optimistic about scaling up its activities in the future. The movement aims to produce more social media influencers and community leaders who are active in promoting the importance of consuming halal products throughout Indonesia.
