Gender Equality and Empowering Women as Telkom's Sustainability Targets
PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) positions gender equality as a strategic component within the Empower Our People pillar, as well as a material topic in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). This commitment is not merely an initiative but the foundation for building a resilient, adaptive, and highly competitive organisation.
“In line with the spirit of Raden Ajeng Kartini’s struggle, TelkomGroup believes that gender equality is key to bringing more diverse perspectives into decision-making and driving sustainable business transformation,” stated the company’s official remarks, quoted on Tuesday (21/4/2026).
This commitment is reflected in measurable achievements. In 2025, the proportion of women in TelkomGroup reached 31.7% of total employees, with 21% of them occupying managerial positions. This demonstrates that women are not only represented but also actively involved in leadership processes. In the future, TelkomGroup targets increasing women’s representation to 32% of total employees and 27% at the managerial level by 2030, as part of a directed and sustainable DEI strategy.
The strengthening of women’s leadership is also evident across various organisational levels. In 2025, women’s representation at the senior management level reached 14.0%, middle management 23.2%, and supervisory level 33.4%. On the other hand, TelkomGroup continues to encourage increased participation of women in strategic functions, including revenue-generating functions currently at 8.3% and STEM fields at 8.1%. This becomes a sustainable focus to ensure women have equal access in strategic and technology-based sectors.
Furthermore, TelkomGroup manifests gender equality and empowering women through leadership at the highest level by Dian Siswarini as CEO of TelkomGroup. Her presence affirms that women can be at the forefront of telecommunications industry transformation.
For her contributions, Dian received the Excellent Mom in Digital Transformation and Regional Connectivity Leadership award at the Wonder Mom Awards 2025, as well as the Inspirational Women Awards 2025. This recognition further strengthens TelkomGroup’s position as an organisation that not only opens opportunities but also encourages women to take on leadership roles.
TelkomGroup also understands that empowering women does not stop at representation but must be supported by an inclusive work ecosystem. Through the provision of facilities such as Telkom Daycare and lactation rooms, the company ensures women can optimally fulfil their professional roles without facing dilemmas between career and family. This support is an important part in maintaining the sustainability of female talent while increasing overall productivity.
With an integrated approach, TelkomGroup continues to strengthen an inclusive and equal work culture. Empowering women is not only a value but also a strategic strength in driving innovation, accelerating transformation, and creating long-term impact. For TelkomGroup, when women are empowered, the organisation moves forward more strongly, more resilient, and increasingly relevant in facing the future.
