Jakarta (ANTARA) - Financial educator Aliyah Nastasya has said that husbands from Generation Z are more skilled at planning family finances.

“Among my Gen Z clients, it is actually the husbands who do the financial planning. They come as couples wanting to undertake financial planning, and when I ask who initiated it, it turns out to be the husband,” Aliyah said at a press conference in Jakarta on Monday.

Aliyah noted that in cases she has encountered with her clients, the husbands expressed a desire to do the right thing for their families.

On the wives’ side, she observed that mothers have become adept at finding the best prices and promotions through special sale dates on various shopping platforms, such as the 2.2 promotion and others.

She also conveyed that the public is becoming increasingly aware of the importance of financial planning. This shift in financial mindset has been influenced by growing awareness of financial planning, the proliferation of digital financial tools, and financial products offering greater payment flexibility.

The public, she said, also tends to make reservations well in advance and is keen on finding the best promotions. Even the allocation of Hari Raya Allowance (THR) funds is carefully planned, so that after Lebaran people still have savings in reserve.

However, transport ticket purchases are often left until close to Lebaran, with people feeling confident they can afford to pay even when prices are higher.

In many cases, the entire THR allowance is spent, and ultimately many people end up seeking loans after Lebaran to survive because they have no remaining savings.
