Gen Z Becomes More Active in Trading, Real-Time AI Features Become a Mainstay
JAKARTA — The changing behaviour of young investors is pushing investment platforms to adjust the look and features of their apps. Gen Z is increasingly perceived as prioritising apps that are fast, visual, personalised, and easy to use to support both investment activities and day trading. In market conditions that move in fluctuations, demand for real-time responsive apps is also rising. ‘When the market moves in seconds, static UI and lagging indicators only yield one outcome: slow decisions, delayed reactions, and weak trading protection,’ Moleonoto said in an official statement on Tuesday, 19 May 2026. He said that investors today not only need a trading app, but also a system that can assist decision-making in a more personal and efficient way. He noted that the younger generation is accustomed to using responsive apps with simple navigation and a more dynamic visual display. Nevertheless, Moleonoto said that modern aesthetics must be balanced with comprehensive trading functions. He added that fundamental data, order management, and analytical features remain essential for active investors. Changes in how investment apps are used are also evident from the growing need for personalised features. Young investors are said to prefer configuring the app display themselves to suit their investment style. Through features such as My Workspace and My Dock in the IPOT app, users can choose the app mode to suit their needs, from Simple Investor, Active Trader, to Expert Execution. On the other hand, the trading activity hub is centralised in the Trade Desk+ menu, allowing investors to monitor their stock list in either a compact or detailed view without having to switch screens excessively. In this system, indicators such as AI Live Trade, LADI, and Bid Offer are placed within a single workflow to simplify market monitoring.
