GEM’s Qurban Programme Distributed to Bahodopi Residents in Morowali
To mark Eid al-Adha 2026, GEM, through its subsidiary PT QMB New Energy Materials, distributed sacrificial animals to residents and employees in Bahodopi District, Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi. The social initiative, part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments, involved distributing four sacrificial cows. The event began on Tuesday, 26 May 2026, with a symbolic handover of the sacrificial animals to Bahodopi community representatives. On Wednesday, 27 May, the distribution of meat took place for local residents and company employees. Distribution was carried out through two channels: via the DKM IMIP mosque committee for Bahodopi residents and direct distribution to PT QMB New Energy Materials employees in Morowali. To ensure orderly and targeted distribution, the company’s ESG and CSR teams implemented a structured coupon system. Three cows were distributed via DKM IMIP to reach a wide range of Bahodopi residents, while one cow was slaughtered and distributed specifically to residents of Dusun 3, Labota Village. Additionally, the company provided 150 meat vouchers for PT QMB New Energy Materials staff. Company ESG representative Azzahra Kharisma stated the kurban initiative was a way of expressing gratitude and the company’s commitment to continue benefiting local communities and workers in its operational areas. “This kurban programme reflects our sincere gratitude and commitment to grow while delivering positive impacts for Bahodopi’s employees and residents,” she said. She added that the Eid al-Adha occasion was intended to strengthen community ties, bring shared joy, and bring blessings to the local population. The initiative received praise from various community members and local religious figures. DKM IMIP representative Aggussalim Daliman commended the company’s consistency in supporting community welfare in the Bahodopi industrial area. “This collaboration ensures the sacrificial meat is distributed neatly and accurately to those in need,” he said. Village Dusun 3 head Arifif also expressed gratitude and hoped similar programmes would continue in the future. “May this kurban assistance bring blessings and continue to be shared with the local community,” he said. Internally, employees also welcomed the annual event. One staff member, Ridwan, expressed gratitude for management’s attention to workers’ welfare and spiritual needs. Through this Eid al-Adha occasion, GEM, via PT QMB New Energy Materials, reaffirmed its commitment to aligning new energy industry growth with the social welfare of Morowali’s communities.
